Join us for our 1st annual alumni gathering, Home for the Holidays, a festive celebration created especially for young adults who’ve aged out of foster care. This event is all about connection, joy, and community — a chance to relax, have fun, and celebrate the season with people who understand your journey.

Whether you bring a dish, a smile, or just yourself, you belong here.💫 Let’s gather, glow, and celebrate the season together.

Who is invited?

Any person who is 18 years of age or older and has ever been in foster care in Texas. The TAFYS Youth Advisory Council will select other special guests.

What to expect:

Dinner: Enjoy warm foods like tacos, charro beans, baked potatoes, and more festive flavors! Bringing a dish is optional — everyone’s welcome at the table.
Music & Good Vibes: Holiday tunes, laughter, and conversation all night long.
Games & Activities: Fun, lighthearted ways to connect and win prizes.
Giveaways & Surprises: You never know what holiday magic might come your way.
Networking & Community: Build lasting relationships with peers, mentors, and the TAFYS community.

“We tend to get busy and forget the important things especially during holidays, we enjoyed making the gingerbread houses as a family and seeing my daughters happiness while playing games and opening the presents made me realize kids are growing up, spend time with them regardless of how busy life gets. It was really fun, my daughters were nervous because they didn’t know what to expect, but once we got there they got comfortable. Food was delicious, different food so that was good. We got to play games, the children got to pick many prizes(toys) and even got presents. Thank you again for having this, we loved our experience.”
